We recommend, don't underestimate the power of natural superfoods - each one is potent and packed with unique benefits. So try these one-ingredient masks without any hassle for a hassle-free weekend beauty ritual.
What is the easiest way to unlock glowing and smooth skin? Apply some ripe papaya puree all over your face. Papain enzymes gently exfoliate the skin, leaving it brighter. In addition, the fruit contains high amounts of vitamins A and C, which reduce pigmentation and promote the formation of new cells in the skin.
A powerhouse of lactic acid, proteins, and probiotics, yogurt is an ingredient that boosts both skin and hair health. Chilled yogurt is not only a cooling tool for the skin and scalp in summer, but also rejuvenates the skin and deeply cleanses the scalp. Yogurt also helps soften curls and soothe frizz, tighten pores and reveal supple skin.
Banana is a powerful ingredient for hair, it's no secret. And it's not wise to ignore the fully ripe ones lying in your kitchen. Bananas are rich in potassium and silica, two nutrients that strengthen, soften and thicken hair. To prepare a banana mask, mash some of it (without leaving any lumps) and apply liberally all over.
Oatmeal is unique in that it has both saponins (the cleansing ingredient) and oils. The ingredient is great for exfoliating and brightening the skin, as it removes dead skin and unclogs pores.
It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help improve the health of the skin. All you have to do is add water to grind it into powder and create a paste consistency.
Not satisfied with your current pore health? Enter tomatoes, which are a storehouse of antioxidants (especially lycopene) that repair skin, support collagen production, and boost radiance. The acids in tomatoes (think malic acid) also help tighten pores and minimize them.
We saved the best for last… Avocado is a true superfood for skin and hair. Mashing ripe avocados (a rich source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids) and applying them to the skin can help relieve dryness, fight acne, and smooth wrinkles and pearl lines by stimulating collagen production. Applying the same to hair can make them softer, shinier and stronger thanks to biotin.
